Our Mission

Performing Arts Center on the Square will nurture artists, technicians, administrators, volunteers, and audience members by providing opportunities for them to study and enjoy the art of theater. It will have a significant impact on the level of arts participation in the community by undertaking a wide range of artistic endeavors.

Center on the Square is a non-profit, 501(c )(3) corporation dedicated to the expansion and appreciation of the performing arts in the region. Our organization is supported in part by the Arkansas Arts Council, a division of the Arkansas Department of Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts. We are a member of the American Association of Community Theaters.

Staff

Rickae Boyd
Interim Executive Director

Rickae is a long time volunteer at Center on the Square both as a performer and director. She earned a B.A. in Speech and Theatre Arts and also holds a Masters in Business Administration. Rickae appreciates the confidence of the Board and our Founder Lana Hallmark, in allowing her to guide the Center on the Square during this time of transition.

Caleb Keese
Artistic Director

Caleb Keese, Artistic Director at Center on the Square, is a 15 year resident of Searcy. A 2008 graduate of Harding University, Caleb has been working professionally as an actor for the past three years. In addition to producing the mainstage productions at Center on the Square, Caleb teaches the Kidstage after school theater workshop for students 2nd through 12th grade. He is very excited to work with local artists and dedicated patrons whose time, talents and resources make Center on the Square a great place to experience the magic of theater!

Lana Hallmark
Founder

Lana has over 30 years experience in professional and educational theater. A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Lana earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater from Hendrix University in Conway, and a Master’s Degree in Education from Harding University right here in Searcy. Lana taught drama at Searcy High School for more than twenty years before opening 111 Arch Street on the court square. Later, when the theater became Center on the Square, Lana was named Executive Director. The Center has now had over 12 years of success!
