Performing Arts Center on the Square

Staff:

Lana Hallmark, Executive Director

Lana has over 30 years experience in professional and educational theater.  A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Lana earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater from Hendrix University in Conway, and a Master’s Degree in Education from Harding University right here in Searcy.  Lana taught drama at Searcy High School for more than twenty years before opening 111 Arch Street on the court square.  Later, when the theater became Center on the Square, Lana was named Executive Director and is thrilled to be celebrating the Center’s 10 years of success.

 

Mike Woodall, Administrative Assistant

Mike is a Searcy native who joined the staff in 2007.  He graduated from Pangburn High School and studied music and theater at Harding University.  For 4 years Mike worked in professional theater in the Seattle, Washington area with such companies as ACT Theater, Seattle Theater Group, and To Be Continued Productions.  In addition to his administrative duties, Mike is often seen onstage and in the director’s chair, and has served as KidStage instructor.

Center on the Square is a non-profit, 501(c )(3) corporation dedicated to the expansion and appreciation of the performing arts in the region.  Our organization is supported in part by the Arkansas Arts Council, a division of the Arkansas Department of Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts.  We are a member of the American Association of Community Theaters.

Performing Arts Center on the Square will nurture artists, technicians, administrators, volunteers, and audience members by providing opportunities for them to study and enjoy the art of theater. It will have a significant impact on the level of arts participation in the community by undertaking a wide range of artistic endeavors.
